welcome to our church

LOVING GOD AND LOVING OTHERS

Come as you are. Leave forever changed.

Whether you are a longtime follower of Christ or a new believer, at Emmanuel Baptist Church you are seen, loved and valued. Our desire as a church is to make Jesus known in the lives of men and to carry out the gospel message in its fullness through proclamation, evangelization and demonstration. Our mission as a church community comes from God’s words in Ephesians 2:19-21 (NIV):

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become the dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

OUR MISSION

To provide ministry without boundaries.

OUR VISION

To be the cornerstone of the community.

OUR STATEMENT OF BELIEF

We hold the Holy Bible to be God’s inspired word to man. It is both the basis and authority for our beliefs.

OUR OBJECTIVE

The sole purpose of this body of believers is to make Jesus known in the lives of men and women and to carry out the gospel message in its fullness through proclamation, evangelization and demonstration.

We seek to…

=

Provide opportunity for the worship of God

=

Proclaim the Word of God to all mankind

=

Engage in evangelism and mission activity

=

Offer opportunity for the fellowship of all

=

Educate our members in biblical faith and Baptist polity

Church Leadership

Rev. Dr. Georgette Prime-Godwin

Pastor

When Rev. Prime-Godwin accepted the Pastoral leadership at Emmanuel Baptist Church in October 2015, there was a level of excitement and apprehension as it was evident from her arrival that she was an orator of the Word of God, and the mantle of Apostolic Order rested heavily upon her. Pastor Godwin as she affectionately known by her parishioners, operates in an authority of order and advocates that whatever we do, as the body of Christ, we must work heartily for Him and not for men, knowing that only from the Lord will one receive the inheritance as an award.

During her tenure at Emmanuel, Pastor Godwin and the church has imprinted its community, with a leadership that has been consistent of providing ministry without boundaries.

On November 5, 2021, Pastor Godwin was called to pray for the reconvening of Parliament. The momentous, riveting, and prophetic prayer, echoed a new mood for parliamentarian leadership, and Bermuda’s community at large. The invocation has been labelled “The Prayer” and is now embedded as part of the history of parliament, which reconvened with the first female governor, and the first female member of clergy.

Pastor Godwin received a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and Management from Regent University, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Master of Divinity Degree for Pastoral Leadership from Payne Theological Seminary, Wilberforce, Ohio, and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity and Chaplaincy from CICA University and Seminary and a Certified Professional Life Coach Designation from Life Coach Institute of Orange County, Florida. Currently a PhD Cohort with Johnson University Center for Global Studies Leadership Program and a life member of the International Society of Female Professionals.

Pastor Godwin is a native of the beautiful Islands of Bermuda.
